German Club Manila: Oktoberfest 2021 Cancelled

The German Club Manila and Solaire will not be holding the annual Oktoberfest celebration for 2021, its second year of postponement.

Since partnering with Solaire in 2018, The German Club Manila’s annual Oktoberfest celebration reached record-breaking feats and attracted more than 6,000 guests – the largest event crowd it has had in its history.

“We would like to announce that this year’s Oktoberfest celebration will again be cancelled. We are committed to supporting the government’s initiatives and directives on the restrictions on events and gatherings as the country moves forward to the road to recovery,” said Bastian Breuer, Solaire’s Vice President for Food & Beverage.

Oktoberfest is the flagship event of The German Club Manila which was established in 1906. This year, the Club was set to hold its 83rd Oktoberfest together with Solaire.

“The decision to cancel Oktoberfest two years in a row was very difficult for us. All our built-up energy from the two missed events will definitely be put into next year’s Oktoberfest. We are looking forward to it,” said Michael Ducke, President of the German Club Manila.

“While we wait for the current circumstances to improve, Solaire has implemented elevated standards of cleanliness and sanitation to ensure an environment that is safe for our guests and team members. We look forward to being able to welcome back our guests once again to a much-anticipated Oktoberfest celebration,” said Breuer.
