The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GPCCI), in cooperation with the German Embassy Manila and the German Club, would like to invite you to the April Economic Forum: “Economic Forum on Demystifying the Economic Impacts of the Sustainability Developments in the Philippines” with Mr. Rahul Sheth, Global Head, Sustainable Bonds, Debt Capital Markets Standard Chartered (through the Bankers Association of the Philippines)on Thursday, 21 April 2022 at 6PM at the German Club, Manila |
According to the WBO’s (World Business Outlook) survey last Autumn 2021, “sustainability is becoming increasingly important for German companies abroad, but many issues remain unresolved.” Nowadays, it is no longer possible to imagine how the global economy works without considering sustainability issues. Two-thirds of member companies of the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) stated that they deal with sustainability issues even if they have not been affected by specific regulations. The Philippines recently launched the Sustainable Finance Framework that will enable it to support and create a roadmap to its sustainable commitments. It intends to contribute to the development of the Sustainable Financing market domestically. It hopes to lay out the process of transparency and disclosure on the use of the proceeds and that the expected environmental and social impact of legitimate green and social projects is in keeping with the international best practices. |
