“The home for the blind children was founded by the congregation of the Sisters of Christian Charity (SCC), based in Paderborn, Germany. They started with their work in Manila in 1997 and took care of 15 blind girls and young women who are mostly from poor families and are sometimes even abandoned. The girls are optimally being taken care of by the sisters and have their own chores to accomplish. They also go to school equipped with speed centers or are trained and educated in-house. Visiting the MHB facilities showed a professionally operated and properly maintained home for the blind by the Charity Sisters who repeatedly expressed their gratitude for the support that our Club Welfare Committee is extending to them.”
