German Club Manila: July 2023 Newsletter

| Dear Members, We hope that the first half of the year went well for everyone. This summer season, we wish those going home to their family and loved ones a safe and happy journey.Last month, we started things off with the Joint Maritime Committee Meeting last June 1, 2023. This was followed by the Economic Forum which featured outgoing German Ambassador, H..E. Anke Reiffenstuel, where she shared some of her experiences and learnings from her time here in the Philippines. |
| This month, we will be having a number of events happening. After several weeks without paintings at the wall at our Club we are pleased to have our partner Magkaisa – Mabini Art Collection around again. The exhibition called WANDERLUST – which means FERNWEH in Language will present first time a mixture of European Art and Filipino Art inspired by the Nature. Landscape from the Philippines and Europe mountains, lakes and houses from both culture and flowers painted as Still-life, in contemporary or abstract way from German, Austrian as well as Italian and French artists will be hanging side by side with Filipino Artists inspired by German areas visited by them or inspired by the Philippine surrounding. A wide variety not yet presented in an exhibition in the Philippines will be available at the German Club. Even some paintings in abstract side beside from Europe and Philippines can be visited. We are convinced for all tastes of our Members an artwork will be available. Have an artwork from Germany with snow or mountains inspire you to get acquainted with the German Culture. |

On Tuesday, July 4, there will be a private member’s event in the Club at dinner time. Given this, we would like to inform you that we would not be accepting any reservations and walk-ins during that time. On the other hand, this Saturday, July 8, the Club will be closed for renovations. Regular club activities and operations will resume on Monday, July 10, 2023. |

At the end of the month, we will also have 2 events coming up which is the Economic Forum on July 20 entitled “Securing Tomorrow’s Business Landscape: Enhancing Risk Management and Legal Safeguards in Philippine Banking” and the Joint Maritime Committee Meeting on July 27, 2023. |
